OMG! This deserves more than a five star review. And you know I’m a class a hater who commonly gives less than five stars. Shrimp voodoo is a must do! This is the best shrimp dish I have ever had. Imagine a poutine so flavorful that it feels like Jesus made it. Perfect blend of spice and salinity. They must try for every person who likes living. Drinks or stellar and you can never go wrong. If it’s a warm day, try of the classic Bombay gin cocktail. Fresh light and tasty. Lobster mac & cheese: Dope Fish and chips: well served with a wonderful tartar sauce. New York strip: excellent

Seth was awesome. Seafood tower was half price today and happy hour prices on oysters. We always enjoy this place when we're in town.

One of my favorite places to go for great seafood in Iowa City. The shrimp voodoo is amazing - the lemon rosemary butter sauce is INCREDIBLE. The hot smoked salmon salad is one of the best salad dishes I've ever had. It doesn't even really feel like you're eating a salad because the salmon portion is so large and the whipped feta with crushed pistachios and basil vinaigrette gives it such depth and richness. And of course we had to get dessert - the dark chocolate torte with espresso ice cream is heavenly. Cool vibes, chill atmosphere, and a solid cocktail menu too!

All I had to do was walk inside for a few seconds to get seated, and it was Mother’s Day too!!They set down a jar of water and gave us some small glasses (LOVE this!), it’s very dog friendly and so many waiters came up to pet her. The Tavern has an amazing Buffalo chicken burrito...I love buffalo sauce and if there’s one food I love more it’s mashed potatoes...and it has both!

If you’re looking for some fresh, delicious oysters in Iowa, you’ve got to check out St. Burch’s Tavern. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and quickly seated. There were a lot of great options for dinner, but I decided to go with the oysters since it was a happy hour special. I tried three different oysters - the Rappahannock from Virginia, the Big Rock from Massachusetts, and the Fanny Bay from British Columbia. Each one was unique and had its own special flavor. The Rappahannock was the best of the three, hands down! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back for more.

I recently made online reservations at Saint Burch Tavern, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly shown to our table. We were seated in the basement area known as “The Den,” which offered a cozy atmosphere with its corner booth, red lighting, and playful decor—perfect for our celebration. Our server was attentive from the start, quickly taking our drink orders and offering thoughtful appetizer suggestions. With a party of four celebrating a birthday, we had the pleasure of sampling several dishes from the dinner menu. We started with oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying all the sauces—they each added a unique touch to the oysters. For the main course, we tried the Maine lobster and gulf shrimp sandwich. While I would have preferred it on a split hoagie roll instead of the brioche bun, I appreciated the distinction between it being a seafood sandwich rather than a lobster roll. Regardless, it was an impressive dish. The prime rib Philly sandwich was another highlight, especially with the caramelized onions and horseradish cream sauce. The lobster mac & cheese quickly became a table favorite, generously filled with chunks of lobster. The birthday girl chose the lake walleye, which was beautifully presented and equally delicious. For dessert, we indulged in the campfire sundae, a delightful treat reminiscent of a warm, gooey campfire marshmallow combined with graham cracker and ice cream—absolutely delightful. Overall, Saint Burch Tavern exceeded our expectations and provided a memorable dining experience. My only minor critique is that being seated near the women’s bathroom, we repeatedly heard the door slam loudly, which was a bit disruptive. However, I’m confident it’s an easy fix. We’ll definitely be returning soon, especially to explore their happy hour offerings.

The decor in St Burch's is absolutely amazing. I'd like to see them do something different with the ceiling tiles, just to bring the whole thing entirely together. Love the lighting. Love the booths. Love the photographs! They also have a bar underneath their restaurant with the neatest taxidermy (I inquired about the boar head). The staff are all prompt and friendly. They fit the aesthetic of their restaurant very well. Our waiter suggested the Voodoo Shrimp and dude, honestly, breaking the reviewer character a bit: He was SO right to suggest those because I don't like shrimp at all, and I was chowin' down. I took a bit of my sandwich when I got my main course before I even took a picture, which says something about how awesome their food is! The drinks were unique, and I had two of their tarot card themed cocktails. I preferred the High Priestess, more than The Emperor. Those who like whiskey would prefer the latter. I loved that they kept the water at the table in a glass bottle and that the water did not TASTE like tap water. I would definitely eat here again.

HELLO to all my gluten-free Celiac friends, today my husband and I went to St. Burch tavern, we asked them if they have a gluten-free menu and they gave me a separate menu.. what I loved about this place is that they were so specific in their menu about the fries and anything fried because they fry them in a shared fryer. I ordered the main lobster sandwich with a gluten-free bun. Everything was delicious They gave me the salad as my side. Our server was Anthony and he was so knowledgeable about cross-contamination and changing gloves and stuff. So thank you! Anthony . The place was so clean. The service was amazing and the ambiance was very nice. I have no reaction whatsoever. The food was delicious. So clean. I highly recommend it. If you're in the Iowa area. Definitely try them out. :)
